Bequests & Wills
After you have looked after your loved ones, leaving a gift in your Will is a simple process. It’s a worthwhile and memorable way for you to make a lasting contribution which could make a real difference in the lives of those with blood disorders and blood cancers.
If you do not have a Will and wish to create one, best to seek legal advice. If you don’t have a solicitor you can contact the Public Trustee of WA.
If you already have a Will all you need to do is add a codicil – a short legal amendment to your existing Will. A simple way to leave a bequest is to include a residuary gift - This means a percentage or the remainder of your estate can be left to the The Perth Blood Institute Limited after you have taken care of your family and any other beneficiaries.
To include The Perth Blood Institute Limited we suggest the following wording (subject to legal advice):
“I Bequeath to The Perth Blood Institute Limited ABN 24164941815 (the residue of my estate, or (a specific sum), or (Specified terms), or (specified percentage of my estate) free of all duties, and a receipt from an authorised officer of the organisation shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s). This sum is to be used by The Perth Blood Institute’s clinical trials and research programs and associated projects”.
Making a Will is a very personal decision and should you decide to leave a bequest, best to inform us. It will assist in planning for the future and we can discuss with you, your intended bequest.
